In 2009, we had frockin’ keen folks dressing in a frock for the whole month; clever folks sewing -up a new frock every day; industrious folks raising money to get their male friends into a frock and educational folks organising frock days at their school, among many, many others! Here a few popular ‘ways to raise’ to get you started…
- Morning/afternoon teas; nothing’s better than a decadent cup of tea in your favourite frock. Call your frockish friends; turn the kettle on, put out some dollar-dazzling slice and your event is complete! F is for Frocktober and T is for, um…Teatime!?
- Challenge your mates; have you seen Bob in a frock!? Or for that matter Mary in a froufrou number since ‘83? Put money on it, and get those unlikely few to step outside their comfort zone for a good cause!
- Get the frocks on and friends out! Plan a night out at your favourite dinner spot or watering hole in honour of Frocktober.
- Ah the workplace favourite; Frock Fridays! Tell your colleagues to get involved and book out a Friday to have some frivolously frocky fun at work. Get the office manager to organise the party pies and beers for 5ish!
- Have a frock swap! Between you, Maud and Laverne there are bound to be some diamonds in the rough that is your wardrobe. With the proverbial ‘your trash is someone else’s treasure’ as your mission statement, bring your frocks to the table! How resourceful!
- The old favourite; don a frock all month, half of it, or even a week and get sponsored for it!
- Partake in The Frock Fringe! Introducing Frocktober’s new line of supporters, these DIY experts are organising frocktacular soirées all over the nation and would like you to attend! Head to ‘The Frock Fringe’ section of our website for a full run down of what our beloved Fringers have scheduled this year.
- Blog about it! Blog about your frockscapades to the WWW. Photograph your frockin’ efforts, show them off to the world and get sponsored for it! We had quite the flurry of frockoggers (!?) last year who beautifully narrated their month of frocks through quirky imagery and insightful captions.
- Attend Frocktober’s Official Events! Get coastal and head to Geelong for the official launch and come back later in the month for the grandest Frock Exchange to have ever graced the surfcoast! See full details in our ‘Official Events’ section.

The benefits of becoming a contributor to Frocktober, and the Ovarian Cancer cause, are numerous. We can offer presence on this very website and it may also be possible to have signage or flyers at some Frocktober events. Finally, our “New Media” presence makes various options available for promotion of your business via Facebook, Twitter and the numerous blogs who take up our cause every year. Depending on availability and direction, this can all be catered to your business.
